Obituary

Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Jackson, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Willie Ansley, pastor of Greater New Hope Holy Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Jackson died Sunday, June 17, 2006, at Plainview Healthcare Center. He was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Kenney to Simon and Charity Jackson. He came to Plainview in 1937 from Slaton and attended the Greater New Hope Holy Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Paul Jackson of Amarillo, Johnny Jackson Jr. of San Angelo and Peter Ledger of Amarillo; one brother, Freddie "Sonny" Jackson of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
