Isbell, E.C. (Pete), Mrs. (Elsie Augusta Ruff)

PLAINVIEW ? Service for Elsie A. Ruff Isbell, 83, of Paris, Texas, formerly of Kress, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Gregory officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
She died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002.
She was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Vasco. She married Dona C. Shuping on Jan. 28, 1942. He died Jan. 23, 1954. She married E.C. "Pete" Isbell on Dec. 17, 1955. He died July 17, 1972.
She grew up and attended schools in Mobetti and graduated from high school in Shamrock. She moved to Kress in 1941, to Arkansas in 1992 and to Paris in 1998. She was a dietetic supervisor for a nursing facility for many years and a member of the Church of God in Plainview.
Survivors include three sons, Paul George Shuping, Dona Joel Shuping and Shelby Vance Isbell, all of Paris; a daughter, Elsie LaDonna Soto of Tulia; a brother, Joe D. Ruff of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
