Obituary
Betty Huffine, 75, of Plainview, passed away at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center of Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, in First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. She was born March 28, 1930, in Liberal, Kan., to Jesse Edward and Ada Miller Slattery. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1948. She was an elevator operator at the Skaggs Building and later a telephone operator for 20 years. She married Marvin Huffine on Dec. 26, 1950, in Plainview. She owned and managed Rick's Lasting Impressions from 1982-94. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught pre-school children at Sunday school for more than 50 years. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Huffine of Plainview; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Bruce McWilliams of Allen; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ricky Huffine of Plainview and Danny and Rachel Huffine of Tuscola; and six grandchildren, Dane, Joseph and Anna Grace McWilliams and Brink, Jesse and Roxy Huffine.
