Huffine, Eldon H.

Funeral services for Eldon H. Huffine, 79, of Amarillo, will be 10 a.m. Monday in Lemons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Wilburn officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial gardens of Plainview by Lemons Funeral home.

Mr. Huffine, died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, in Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo. Mr. Huffine was born Aug. 8, 1923, in Gray County, Okla., and served in World War II from 1941-46 as a third class gunner?s mate in the Armed Guards of the U.S. Navy. He worked in oil refineries and chemical plants and retired from the Lyndon B. Johnson National Park in 1988. He moved to Amarillo in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail Henderson of Lockney; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Chester Huffine of Plainview and Don and Gay Nell Huffine of Abilene; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home and suggests memorials to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101; or to Hospice Hands of West Texas, 305 N. Main Lockney, TX 79241
