Obituary

Funeral Mass for Jose Jesus Huerta, 74, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Antonio Gonzalez officiating. Burial will be in be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Huerta died Monday, April 16, 2007, at his residence. He was born March 5, 1933, in Hebbronville to Diego and Beatrice Suarez Huerta. He worked as a foreman of maintenance at Wayland Baptist University and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He married Pauline Alcozer on Sept. 14, 1994, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Bobby Huerta, Jesus Huerta Jr. and Richard Huerta, all of Kress, Diego Huerta of Maxwell, Ray Huerta of Tulia and Lupe Huerta of Lockney; four daughters, Diana Bullock of Tulia, Angie Esquivel and Sandy Huerta, both of Kress, and Rosa Sanchez of Plainview; two stepsons, David Rocha and Tommy Rocha, both of Plainview; three stepdaughters, Mickey Garcia of Plainview and Yolanda Magallanes and Mary Jane Ochoa, both of Lubbock; two sisters, Julie Perez and Catherine Lopez; 51 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His son, Freddie Huerta; one daughter, Janie Collazo; four brothers, Diego Huerta, Cleofas Huerta, Bobby Huerta and Amador Huerta; and two sisters, Cecilia Rodriguez and Olivia Camacho, are deceased.
