William Newton Huddleston, 77, died this morning at the home of a son A. D. Huddleston, in the Halfway community where the family has lived for almost a quarter of a century.
Funeral services are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of the M. W. Lemons Funeral Home.
Huddleston, a retired farmer, was born Oct. 2, 1870, in Anderson County. He moved to Hale County in 1925 from Knox County. He was married on Sept. 21, 1898 to Miss Ella Gore who died in 1937. He was a member of the Halfway Methodist Church.
Survivors are three sons, J. L. Huddleston, Smyer; E. H. Huddleston, Dallas, and A. D. Huddleston. Four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Ferguson, Plainview; Mrs. M. M. McCurley, Amarillo, and Mrs. H. E. Pullen, Clovis, Calif; five brothers, John Huddleston, Bridgeport; Lewis Huddleston, Post; R. R. Huddleston, Lubbock; Ferman Huddleston, Lamesa, and Lee Huddleston, Santa Fe, NM, and a sister, Mrs. W. R. Oates, Fort Worth. Twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren survive.
