MOTHER OF R. B. C. HOWELL DIED AT AUSTIN WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Sarah R. Howell, mother of R. B. C. Howell of this city, died Wednesday afternoon in Austin at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rena Akerson. Mrs. Howell was 87 years of age and her death was caused from injuries received from a fall. She was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and she and her husband came to Hale County in 1892, being one of the early settlers of Hale County and a charter member of the Baptist church in this city. The deceased leaves two sons and two daughters., they are R. R. C. Howell of this city; Alfred Howell of San Bernardino, California; Mrs. Charlotte Washington of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Mrs. Rena Ackerson of Austin. Two of the children Alfred and Mrs. Washington could not attend the funeral. Funeral services were held at the Plainview Undertaking home Friday morning at 11 a. m., by Rev. G.I. Britain assisted by Rev. J.W. Saffle Rev. J. Pat Horton. Interment was made in the Plainview cemetery and the body was laid to rest by the side of her husband, Capt. A. T. Howell who died sixteen years ago.
