PETERSBURG ? Funeral services for W.L. ?Sputs? Holt, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Wilson, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by White Funeral Home of Idalou.

Mr. Hold died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, in Petersburg.

He was born Dec. 15, 1912, in Petersburg, the son of William Thomas and Essie Mae Williams Holt. He grew up in Petersburg where he attended schools. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Start and First United Methodist Church.

On July 3, 1937, he married Elizabeth Ricker in Petersburg.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and three daughters-in-law, L.R. ?Ray? and Fern Holt of Fort Worth, C. Mack and Carolyn Holt of Loving, N.M., Church Croff of Lubbock and L.C. and Shirley Holt of Memphis, Tenn.; five sisters, Adora Lee Caldwell of Alamogordo, N.M., Bernice Smith of Plano, Edna Pender of Canyon, Lillian Herndon of Homer, Alaska, and Lola Mae White of Grandbury; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Connie Holt Jones, died Feb. 17, 2003.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and suggests memorials to Lubbock Scottish Rite Learning Center, 602 Ave. Q, Lubbock, TX 7940, or to a favorite charity.
