Obituary

Services for Imogene Hollingsworth, 85, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Hale Center. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Hollingsworth died at her residence in Plainview on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006. She was born June 4, 1921, in Hale County to Jessie Blanche (Pate) and Oliver V. Powell. She married Walter Hollingsworth on March 1, 1946, in Mineral Wells, Texas. He died March 21, 1988. She was a Hale County resident all of her life, living in the Cotton Center, Hale Center and Plainview area. She and her husband farmed. She worked at Edgemere School in Plainview as a custodian. She was a member of 11th & Amarillo Church of Christ in Plainview. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Joye and Charley Haney of Plainview and Barbara Kirchhoff of Midland; two sisters, Afton Thomas of Dumas and Clotee Minchew of Hereford; five grandchildren, Juli and her husband Jerry Early of Austin, Lori and her husband Robby McCarver of Canyon, Darren Kirchhoff and Cameron Kirchhoff of Midland and Gavin Haney of Plainview; and three great -grandchildren, Mia, Abby and Bailey Early of Austin.
