Funeral services for Oscar ?Bud? Holbert, 83 of Amarillo, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, officiating.
Gravesides services will be at 4 p.m. in Abernathy Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Shannon, pastor of Golden Pathways Church in Amarillo, officiating.
Burial arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
Mr. Holbert died at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born Sept. 9, 1916, in Paris, Texas. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was highly decorated for his service. He had worked most of his life in farming and in the oil fields as a roughneck.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sisters, Patsy Holbert Rodgers of Hart and Diane Holbert Shannon of Amarillo; and two brothers, Jerry Holbert of San Antonio and Pat Holbert of Bakersfield, Calif.
The family suggests memorials to Family Council at the VA Medical Center in Amarillo.
