Obituary

Memorial services for Mary T. Cua Hoffman, 81, of Plainview, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Hoffman died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at her residence. Mrs. Hoffman was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Dover, Ohio. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1940. She attended the St. Francis School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio, received her R.N. certification in 1944 and was licensed to practice in the states of Ohio, West Virginia and Texas. She retired from the nursing profession in 1986. Mrs. Hoffman is survived by two sons, Robert P. and Sue Berkel Hoffman of Austin, TX, and Bruce and Marie Hoffman of Austin, TX; one daughter, Becky and Tom McCartie of Plainview, TX; one sister, Catherine Walters of Dover, Ohio; two brothers, Nicholas and Louie Cua of Dover, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Dot Lavin of Cranburg, N.J.; four grandchildren, Travis Hoffman, Kellie Berkel Hoffman, Bobby Berkel Hoffman and Brenda McCartie; and two step-grandchildren, Eric and Jeremy Yarbrough. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Hoffman, in January 1994
