Obituary

Lida Jearl Hodges, 94, of Plainview passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at First Assembly of God in Plainview with the Rev. Neil Unwin officiating and the Rev. Manuel Rodriguez assisting. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, Aug. 17, 2011, at the funeral home. Jearl was born Dec. 24, 1916, to William and Mandy Maddox in Clinton, Ark. She married Paul Lee Hodges on Oct. 6, 1934, in Anadarko, Okla. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Plainview and a member of First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hodges; her parents, William and Mandy Maddox; two sons, Paul Arnald Hodges and Kenneth Lee Hodges; two daughters, June Ann Malone and Donna Gayle Hodges; one grandson, Kenneth Dale Hodges; one step-great-grandson, Bryce Dare; three brothers; and three sisters. Jearl is survived by one daughter, Tammy Schank and husband, Terry, of Plainview, Texas; one granddaughter, Mandy Formby of Plainview, Texas; and one sister, Wanda Webster of Lubbock, Texas.
