Obituary

Graveside services for George W. Hobbs, 84, of Abernathy will be at 2 p.m. today in Strip Cemetery with the Rev. Clinton Elliott officiating.

Burial is under the direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Lutheran Home.

He was born April 23, 1915, in Moody. He married Joyce Evelyn Skinner on April 21, 1940, in Wichita Falls. She died Aug. 21, 1994.

He worked for Pinkerton Garage. He was a mechanic and a farmer and a member of Abernathy Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son, George E. of Kansas; three daughters, Patti F. Smith and Nelda Jean Cordell, both of Arizona, and Barbara Hobbs of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
