Funeral services for Pruitt Hill, 94, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Stan Fowler, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Plainview, and Kay S. Porter, counselor for the same church, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Hill died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, in Canterbury Villa in Dimmitt. She was born April 10, 1907, in Georges Creek. She moved to West Texas in 1929 and lived in Matador. She moved to Plainview in 1937. She was an active member of AARP, RSVP, Military Mothers Club and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On Nov. 27, 1929, she married Orion Ross Hill in Whiteflat. He died April 24, 1981. Survivors include three sons, Charles Sweeney of Olathe, Kan., Weldon Hill of Mesquite and Kenneth Hill of Moore, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Three daughters, Kathleen Olmsted, Joy Chandler, and Pauline Sparrow, and a son, Grady Hill, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Plainview, or to Lighthouse for the Blind in Amarillo.
