Graveside services for Charles R. Hildreth, 70, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Petersburg Cemetery with the Rev. Sharon Wiese of First United Methodist Church in Littlefield officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Hildreth died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Petersburg. He grew up there and attended Petersburg schools. He joined the U.S. Navy and served for 22 years, retiring from active duty in 1977. He worked for the Rework Facility on F-14s in Northhighland in San Diego. He moved back to Petersburg in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church, VFW and the Naval Fleet Reserve. He married Janet McDaniel on Dec. 22, 1959, in Petersburg. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Katrina Pritchard of San Diego; two sons, Keith Hildreth of Lakeside, Calif., and Johnny Hildreth of Palm Springs, Calif.; two brothers, J.B. Hildreth of Powell, Wyo., and Tommy Hildreth of Petersburg; one sister, Louise Miller of Petersburg; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Two brothers, Howard Hildreth and Kenneth Hildreth; and two sisters, Roxie Fox and Ruth Saffel, are deceased.
