Obituary

Funeral services for Manuel A. Hernandez Sr., 66, were at 2 p.m. today in New Life Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Steve Martinez, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Hernandez died Friday, April 26, 2002, in Covenant Hospital in Plainview. He was born in Villa De Cos, Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of the late Augustin and Julia Aguilera Hernandez. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Inez; three sons, Manuel Hernandez Jr., and Rudy Martinez, both of Plainview, and Mario Martinez of Georgia; three daughters, Esmeralda Cantu and Corina Espinosa, both of Plainview, and Deborah Martinez of Amarillo; five sisters, Linda Hernandez of El Paso, Josefina Hernandez and Bernardina Hernandez of Mexico, Emma Hernandez of Lockney and Rutilla Martinez of Monterrey, Mexico; two brothers, Sigefredo Hernandez of Mexico and Joseoton Hernandez of Mexico City, Mexico; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
