Obituary

Funeral services for Gloria Hernandez, 54, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bartley Memorial Chapel with Chris Craig officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hernandez died Friday, May 26, 2006, in Covenant Lakeside in Lubbock. She was born July 28, 1953, in San Antonio to Alejandro and Maria Castillo and married Humberto Hernandez on Feb. 9, 1980, in Plainview. She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1973. She worked at KVOP Radio before attending Elkins Institute of Broadcasting School in Dallas. She had worked for the Hale County Crisis Center and was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship. Survivors include her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Samuel and Rachel Hernandez and Israel Hernandez, all of Plainview; three daughters and a son-in-law, Laura and Uriel Villa, Lisa Hernandez and Keren Hernandez, all of Plainview; her father, Alejandro Castillo of San Antonio; two sisters, Diana Castillo of San Antonio and Nina Farias of Plainview; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her mother, two brothers and two nephews are deceased.
