Obituary

Funeral services for Hershel Henderson, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Curry, minister of education, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Henderson died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005. A life-time resident of Plainview, he was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Hale Center to James M. and Ella D. Moore Henderson. Mr. Henderson served in the Army medical corps during World War II. He married Doris Ann Armstrong on Feb. 6, 1948, in Meadow. They moved to Plainview after they married. He worked as a carpenter until he retired. Mr. Henderson was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Allan Henderson and wife, Beverly, of San Angelo and Ted Henderson of Hemet, Calif.; two brothers, Edell Henderson of Dennison and Gene Henderson of Lewisville; three sisters, Evalene McDonald of Plainview, Inez Hill of Wichita, Kan., and Jessie Stanton of Culver, Calif.; and three granddaughters.
