Obituary
Virginia Mae Hearn, 75, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, in Plainview. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Happy Union Baptist Church with Pastor Richard O. Miller officiating and Bishop Leonard G. Chatham assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Virginia was born on March 16, 1938, to Wells and Elwana Wade in Navasota, Texas. She grew up in Crowell and attended schools there and in Hale Center. She married James D. Hearn on Jan. 29, 1955, in Plainview. He preceded her in death. She worked at Coronado Junior High for 27 years as a cook in the cafeteria. She was a member of Happy Union Baptist Church where she was active in several different ministries. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Van Wade; and a granddaughter, Carolyn Johnson. She is survived by her children, Linda Johnson of Lubbock, James D. Hearn and wife Mary of Plainview, Brenda Hearn of Plainview, Randy Hearn and wife Carolyn of Lubbock, Peggy McKelvy and husband Frank of Kress, and Lillie Marie Hearn of Lubbock; three sisters, Sharon Wade of Fort Worth, Patricia Ridge and husband Jimmy of Austin, and Ruby Murphy of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Jason Hearn and Jarron Hearn; one great-grandchild, Reagan Hall; two godchildren, Ryan Byers and Rodrick Ansley; stepmother, PaulineWade; and a host of nieces and nephews.
