Hayes, Royce

Funeral services for Royce Hayes, 47, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Sanctuary with the Rev. Ron Brunson, pastor of New Covenant Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Hayes died at 12:21 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, in Mangold Memorial Hospital in Lockney.

He was born May 9, 1953, in Lockney where he grew up, graduating from Lockney High School in 1971. He attended West Texas A&M and worked for Acco Seed in Aiken and Leola, Kan. He had worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed Co. in Plainview since 1978. He was a member of Plainview Elks Lodge and attended First Baptist Church.

He married Marilyn Jones on Sept. 6, 1974.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chad Hayes and Colby Hayes of Plainview; his mother, Mamie Hayes of Lockney; five brothers, Alvin Hayes, Cleatis Hayes and Roland Hayes of Lockney, and Ronnie Hayes and Joe Hayes of Farmersville, and four sisters, Shirley Hayes and Lesca Dee Durham of Lockney, June Hays of Plainview and Rita Brown of Lorenzo.

His father, Albert Hayes, and a brother, Larry Hayes, are deceased.

Family visitation will be at Lemons Funeral Home today from 6-8 p.m.
