Obituary

Mary Harriss, 79, of Plainview, passed away on Dec. 31, 2014. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Evan Weiss officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Harriss was born on Aug. 19, 1935, in Winona, Missouri, to Preston Voyles and Martelia Broadfoot Voyles. She married A. D. Harriss Sr. on Aug. 21, 1951, in Clovis, New Mexico. She was a homemaker who loved playing cards, board games and spending time with her children. Mary was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a member of the Calvery Baptist Church in Plainview. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arther on Oct. 19, 1994, one brother and a sister. She is survived by for sons: Arther Harriss Jr. and wife Katheryn of Plainview, Gary Harriss and wife Teresa of Plainview, Charles Harriss and wife Sandy of Tyler, and Randy Harriss and wife Kristi of Plainview; two daughters, Sherry and husband Kirk Richardson and Santana and husband Jeff Abbott both of Hale Center; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
