Obituary

W.C. "Woody" Harper, 93, of Plainview passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, at First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel in Plainview with Danny Andrews and Steve Olson officiating. Martin Duckett will play the piano. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Woody was born Dec. 6, 1918, the youngest of 10 children, to William and Fannie Harper in Goldthwaite, Texas. More than 70 years ago he married Louise Hooper in Anton, Texas. In 1946, they moved to the then Happy Union community south of Plainview. He was a longtime farmer in Hale County, a member of First Baptist Church and liked fishing, hunting and playing dominos. He served in the Merchant Marines. He is survived by his wife, Louise, of Plainview; daughter, Gail McEachern and her husband, Larry, of Lubbock; granddaughters, Gina Oseguerra and Brittany McEachern; and great-grandchildren, Christian, Daniella and Spencer Oseguerra.
