Obituary

Funeral services for Effie Lee Harlan, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Jennings, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Harlan died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, in Plainview Healthcare Center. She was born March 23, 1924, in Calvert. She attended schools in Milan County and moved to the Petersburg before moving to Plainview where she has lived for the last 50 years. She was a self-employed house cleaner and a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert Long of Plainview; a sister, Jessie Mae Parker of Calvert; two grandsons, Robert Long Jr., of Houston and Desmond Long of Amarillo; four nieces; and four nephews. Four sisters and one brother are deceased.
