Obituary

Private graveside services for Gladys Evelyn Evans Hardesty, 88, will be held Wednesday in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Mrs. Hardesty died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 1997, in Heritage Home.

She was born Jan. 14, 1909 in Cairo, Ill. She married Harold Fredrick Hardesty on Oct. 23, 1926 in Centralia, Ill. He died Jan. 28, 1980. After her marriage, she lived in Cairo until moving to Plainview in March 1979.

She was a member of First Prebyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard E. (Sharon) Morgan of Plainview; one brother, George Glen Evans of New York City, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Richelle Johnson of Lubbock and Deanna Hollas of Dallas and three great-grandchildren.
