Graveside services for Billy Ray "Bill" Hanvey, 73, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Plainview Cemetery with the Rev. Fred B. Baker, retired United Methodist minister of Lubbock, officiating. Services are by Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m today at the funeral home. Mr. Hanvey died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at his residence. He was born May 22, 1933, in Portales, N.M., to Roy and Virgee Hanvey. He married Rosa Baker on March 12, 1975, in Plainview. He was a carpenter and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Willard Ray Hanvey, Billy Don Hanvey of Minnesota and Ronny Lynn Hanvey of Dallas; three daughters, Patricia Hanvey, Mary Hanvey of Dallas and Wanda Wright of Lubbock; one stepson, Jay Youngblood of Abernathy; seven stepdaughters, Marie Peterson, Barbara Cromeans and Susan Lovejoy, all of Atlanta, Texas, Bess Jones of Lubbock, Cheryl Murry of Plainview, Vicki Porter of Dallas and Rosa Lovell of Terrell; one brother, Bob Hanvey of Houston; two sisters, Florene Lasater of Sherman and Clydine Hanvey of Houston, and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
