Obituary
Funeral services for Daisy Mae Hanson, 95, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in the Church of the Nazarene in Plainview, Texas, with the Rev. Doug Yates, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Hanson passed away June 25, 2009, in Arlington, Texas, where she resided with her daughter. She was born Feb. 20, 1914, in Shattuck, Okla., to Robert and Clara Pinkerton. She married James Hanson on July 20, 1935, in Booker, Texas. She moved to Plainview in 1932. She graduated from Booker High School and graduated from Lippert's Business College in Plainview. She was manager of the school cafeteria in Kress, Texas. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Plainview. She loved to sew, make ceramics and was a published poet. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo and her husband, Bob Shellhaas, of Arlington, Texas, and Nita and her husband, Rinn Cleavelin, of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Sylvia Douglas of Hereford, Texas; five grandchildren, Tina, Viki and Cody Cleavelin, and Jimmy and Jon Shellhaas; and three great-grandchildren, Cade, Dillon and Elena Cleavelin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Jerry Wayne Hanson; two brothers, Charley and Wayne Pinkerton; and one sister, Oneta Hanson, Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at the funeral home.
