PETERSBURG - Graveside services for Minnie Belle Hamilton, 91, of Idalou, former Petersburg resident, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Petersburg Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Aubrey Howell and the Rev. Calvin Gray and Wayne Moore officiating. Arrangements are by White Funeral Home of Idalou. Mrs. Hamilton died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001. She was born Aug. 29, 1910, in Streeter. She attended several schools including West Texas, Midland and Petersburg. She moved from Petersburg to Dallas in 1990 and to Idalou in 2000. She was a homemaker and active in several women?s organizations in Petersburg and Dallas. She was a member of the First Baptist churches in Idalou and Petersburg. On Oct. 29, 1927,
she married Velmer Henry Hamilton in Odessa. He died Dec. 29, 1989. Survivors include a son, Cleon Hamilton of Idalou; a daughter, Jewell Howell of Burlington, Colo.; a sister, Chloe Selch of Monrobia, Ind.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A grandson, Scott Hamilton, died in 1989. The family suggests memorials to the Petersburg First Baptist Church, 2001 Main St., Petersburg, TX 79250; to Hospice of Lubbock, P.O. Box 53276, Lubbock, TX 79453; or VistaCare Family Hospice, 7606 University Ave., Suite C, Lubbock, TX 79423. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home in Idalou.
