Obituary

HALE CENTER - Funeral services for J.V. Hail Jr., 93, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Silas Short, minister of the Church of Christ in Throckmorton, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Hail died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Integrated Health Services Heritage Home in Plainview. He was born Oct. 22, 1908, the son of the late J.V. Hail Sr. and Ruthie Mae Brownd Hail, in Hico. He attended school in Hale Center where he has lived for 78 years. He was a farmer and a member of the board of directors of the Hale Center Co-op Gin and the Hale County Farm and Ranch Museum. He had served as vice president of the Hale Center Senior Citizens Association for several years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. His wife, Loree, died March 2, 1984. Survivors include one sister, Maxine Hosier of Bentonville, Ark.; a brother, Pat Hail of San Angelo; and several nieces and nephews. Seven brothers and sisters are deceased. Pallbearers will be Leslie Johnson, Henry Rieff, Jack Smith, J.G. Cannon, James Huffhines and Bobby Wardlaw. The family suggests memorials to the Hale Center Senior Citizens, the Hale County Farm and Ranch Museum, or to a favorite charity.
