Hadley, John William

Funeral services for John William Hadley, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, and the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Mr. Hadley died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Plainview Health Care Center (Heritage Home).

He was born Dec. 7, 1915, the son of the late Isadore Alvin and Lucy Thompson Hadley, in Oletha in Limestone County. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 38 tears in Plainview. He had served on the board of the Hale County Senior Citizens Center and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Good Sams Club.

On July 18, 1937, he married Ruth Frances McMillan in Plainview. She died in March 1996.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Jack and Francis Hadley of Dallas and Joe Don and Beverly Hadley of Plainview; a sister, Fae Watters of Vancouver, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter, Judy Gail Hadley; a brother, James Harvey Hadley; and a sister, Ann Hadley, also are deceased.

The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

The Family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, the Senior Citizens Center, VistaCare Family Hospice, or American Cancer Society.
