Obituary

Raymon Hackett, 81, of Plainview passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Garland Street Church of Christ with his son, Mark Hackett, minister of Lamesa Church of Christ, officiating, and Steve Gauntt, minister of Garland Street Church of Christ, assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Raymon was born June 21, 1930, in Coleman, Texas, to W.A. and Hazel Hackett. He graduated from Petersburg High School in 1950. He worked for Fred Garrison Oil Company for 53 years in many capacities. He served as an elder at Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ for 24 years. He was currently a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. He married Anne Self on Aug. 29, 1952, in Floydada, Texas. Raymon was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters. Survivors include his wife, Anne, of the home; four children, Mark Hackett and wife Rhonda of Lamesa, Carol and husband, Eddie Lee, of Midland, Brent Hackett and wife, Leslie, of Plainview, and Sheila Alexander of Plainview; nine grandchildren, Bryan Hackett, Kevin Hackett, Melanie Turner, Jared Lee, Cari King, Jordan Hackett, Jacob Hackett, Hayden Alexander and Bracken Alexander; and six great-grandchildren.
