Obituary

Funeral services for Ailene Johnson Guthrie, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in 11th and Amarillo Street Church of Christ with J Henderson officiating. Interment will be in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Born July 6, 1919, in Olustee, Okla., Mrs. Guthrie died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at her residence. She moved to Meadow in 1926 and to Lubbock in 1942. She moved to Plainview in 1947 and operated a drapery and upholstery shop. She worked in sales at Bealls and retired from Gabriel's in 1994. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married J.B. Guthrie on March 18, 1948, in Lamesa. He died Jan. 7, 2004. Survivors are a son, J.T. Guthrie of Austin; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and W.A. Agnell of Austin; three sisters, Bonzie Johnson and Ann Connolly, both of Lubbock, and Marcella Davis of Sherman; and two grandsons, Ryan Agnell of San Antonio and Brandon Agnell of Baltimore, Md. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
