Gunter, William Carey,Jr., Mrs. (Ella Louise Crawford)

Funeral services for Ella Louise Gunter, 72, were at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Plainview Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gunter died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in St. Mary Skilled Nursing Unit in Lubbock.

She was born June 18, 1926, in Carson County. She moved to Olton from Groom in 1952 and to Plainview in 1970. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Travel Study Club, Texas Historical Society and was past president of the Woman?s Missionary Union of the church. She wrote a play, ?Patchwork? which was performed at Wayland Baptist University.

On Sept. 27, 1947, she married W.C. Gunter in Amarillo. He died April 1, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Southern of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lucy Gunter of Austin; a son, Carey C. Gunter of Austin; her mother, Minnie Sibold of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Keith Crawford of Channing and Alvin Crawford of Kansas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
