Obituary

Darrell Gresham, 82, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation was held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Darrell was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Winters, Texas, to Dan Sr. and Ruby Gresham. He grew up in Winters, Texas. Darrell served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. After serving in the military, he worked in the oil fields. In 1958 he moved to Plain?view where he and his brother owned Gresham Garage. In 1966 he went into partnership with Bob Raymer and opened Farm Service & Supply between Plainview and Edmonson. He retired in February 2010. He married Ann Deaton on Nov. 6, 2010, in Iowa Park, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Gresham; his parents, Dan Sr., and Ruby Gresham; his son, Richard Gene Gresham; his brother, Dan Gresham Jr.; and his great-grandson, Gabriel Benson. Darrell is survived by his wife, Ann M. Gresham of Iowa Park, Texas; one son, Jim Gresham and his wife, Jann, of San Angelo, Texas; two sisters, Sharron Reed and her husband, Bill, of Cross Plains, Texas, and Pricilla Hodge of Dallas, Texas; his stepson, Kevin Meinzer and his wife, Jana, of Vernon, Texas; four grandchildren, Jessica Benson and her husband, Jeff, James Gresham and Brook and Blake Meinzer; and one great-grandson, Jeremiah Benson.
