Obituary

Funeral services for Ira Fern Holt Gregory, 82, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor, and his wife, Janie, officiating. Interment will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. She was born in Aspermont June 8, 1922, and died April 19, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center of Lubbock. She came to this area in 1942 and lived here all of her life. Ira Fern Baker married Cleo Clay Holt on April 9, 1949, in Clovis, N.M. He died in 1977. She was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church and was active in Senior Citizens. Survivors are one daughter, Paula Tribble Cleveland of Birmingham, Ala.; two sons, Larry and Sandra Holt of Clyde, Dan and Gerald Dean Holt of Plainview; two sisters, Myrtle Porter, Inez and Alfred Zeman of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Justin Tribble, Heatherly McGraw, Aaron Holt, Caleb Holt and Remmington Holt; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon McGraw, Avery Holt and Ayden Holt. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, one brother, three sisters and brothers-in-law. Memorials may be made to Seth Ward Baptist Church or to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
