Obituary
Betty Jo Green, 79, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Seth Ward Baptist Church with Rev. Tye Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at the funeral home. Betty was born on April 30, 1935, to Robert and Lula Dassler in Indianola, Oklahoma. She went to be with her heavenly family Feb. 25, 2015. She married Thomas Green on Sept. 14, 1954. After getting married they moved to Lockney, Texas, where he began his career working on the farm. She was a homemaker. In 1971, she pursued her calling to be a nurse. She worked at Nichols Hospital and later began working on Medical Surgical Floor of Central Plains Regional Hospital that later became Covenant. After 31 years of nursing, she retired from her passion of caring for others in their time of sickness. After retiring, Betty continued to take care of others by taking them to doctor's appointments, going grocery shopping and being a helpful friend. She loved working outside with flowers at her home and church. She loved to travel and love being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include Thomas Green of Plainview, Texas; two daughters, Annette Milstead and husband David of Plainview, Jody Campbell and husband Larry, of Cibolo, Texas; and one son, AJ Green and wife Fran of Plainview. She has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-children, three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Henry Dassler of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Benny Dassler of Crowder, Oklahoma, and John Dassler of McAlester, Oklahoma, six sisters, Dora Heaslett of Denair, California, Daisy Kennedy of Lewiston, Idaho, Coleen Heaslet of Krebs, Oklahoma, Brenda Mounce of Crowder, Oklahoma, Billie Hamlin of Aiken, Texas, Glenda Ross of McAlester, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Rebecca Joyce, twop granddaughters, Kimberly Dawn Campbell and Rebecca Ann Milstead Cook, two sisters, Juanita Henderson and Rose Orler and one brother Lonnie Dassler.
