Obituary

Funeral services for Kent Green, 68, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning and the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Green died Tuesday, April 6, 2010. He was born June 7, 1941, in Lubbock to Raymond and Jo Beasley Green. He married Barbara Rayome Wirth on May 7, 1984, in El Paso. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from West Texas State University. He was a retired roofing consultant who was passionate about archeology and his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother; his wife; three daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Bobby Brakemeier of Keller, Kelli and Andy Thompson of McKinney and Rita Wirth and Jim Weiland of Madison, Wis.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Green of Lubbock and Jack and Tracey Wirth of Plainview; six grandchildren, Dirk Williams, Ashlyn and Kamryn Brakemeier, Kinley Thompson and Thomas and Jaci Wirth; a brother, Jim Green of Estes Park, Colo.; a sister, Barbara Franklin of Austin; and an aunt, Violet Page of Plainview. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Green. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
