Obituary

Funeral services for Emmit Green, 78, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lemons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Lemons officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Green died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at his residence. He was born Sept. 30, 1929, in Jones County to Ed Green and Elvira Smith Green. He married Berlene Woods on Dec. 13, 1965, in Plainview. He worked for many years for Harry Igo at the grain elevators and later in the lawn care business. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Kenneth Smoots of Denver; and six grandchildren. His parents; a son, Jerome Green; seven sisters; and two brothers are deceased
