Grant, Charley Wayne

Graveside services for Charley Wayne Grant, 65, were at 11 a.m. today in Plainview Memorial Park with Ron Huckeby officiating.

Burial arrangements were by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Mr. Grant died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Plainview where he grew up and attended schools. He worked in construction as a cement contractor for many years and also was in the lawn mower repair business. He also did various types of carpentry work and crafts.

He lived in Oklahoma for 30 years before returning to Plainview in 1992.

Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Ortegon of Plainview and Isleta Downing of Oregon; a brother, Virgil Leroy Grant of Oklahoma; three nieces, Kaylene Wheeler of Plainview, Lorene Mata of Amarillo and Sarah Griffin of Washington; and two nephews, Raul Ortegon Jr., and Randy Ortegon, both of Plainview, and Ronnie Ortegon of Dallas.
