Obituary

D.T. "Buddy" Graham, 87, of Plainview passed away surrounded by his family on Aug. 8, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Marrow and Danny Andrews officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. There will be a reception immediately after the service in the Parlor of First Baptist Church. Buddy was born on May 4, 1927, to H.H. and Grace Irene Graham. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He married his high school sweetheart Bettie Jane Warren on April 15, 1945, in South Plains. They were married for more than 69 years. Buddy farmed in the Plainview area for more than 30 years, worked for Attebury Grain for 12 years and worked for Kornerstone Funeral Directors. He was baptized and ordained as a deacon at Happy Union Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, attended the Danny Andrews Sunday School Class and served as an usher/greeter for more than 50 years. Buddy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family very much. Survivors include his wife Jane Graham of Plainview; four daughters, Janice Graham of Dallas, Brenda Graham Temple of Plainview, Susan Simpson and husband Rick of Plano, and Beverly Humes and husband Gary of Austin; 10 grandchildren, Brian Ragland and wife Kim, Lance Ragland and wife Tiffany, Miles Ragland and wife Leslie, Ryan Redman, David Simpson, Aaron Simpson and wife Patricia, Ken Root and wife Kathy, Clint Humes and wife Melisa, Tyler Humes and wife LaRae, and Hillary Humes; 15 great-grandchildren, Lindsey Ragland, Graham Ragland, Austin Ragland, Laney Ragland, Ross Ragland, Reagan Ragland, Ashlee Simpson, Chaz Simpson, David Thomas Simpson, Andrew Simpson, Kenny Root, Brandon Root, Reagan Root, Abigail Humes and Julia Humes; one great-great grandson Patrick Salcedo; one sister Ima Lea Gamblin of Amarillo; sister-in-law Jean Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
