Obituary

Funeral service for Warren E. Goodgion, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April, 14, 2006, in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, officiating and the Rev. Horace Abbott, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Goodgion passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his residence. He was born June 22, 1920, in Hale County to J.D. and Leona Goodgion. He married Coranette Putnam on Oct. 18, 1937, in Canadian. He was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife; two daughters and one son-in-law, Trixie Gatlin of Plainview and Donna and Leonard Phillips of Plainview; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Betty Goodgion of Amarillo; and five grandchildren, Tammy Waller, Mark Phillips, Tiffany Cooper, Jason Goodgion and Kelvin Gatlin. He was blessed with five great-grandchildren. He also is survived by one brother, Waller Goodgion of Lubbock; and two sisters, Bonnie Yandell of Honey Grove and Florence Taft of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. The family suggest memorials to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Road, Suite C, Plainview, TX 79072.
