Obituary

Pablo E. Gonzalez, 68, of Plainview passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Gerard Kenney officiating and Deacon Arturo Hinojosa assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pablo was born on Jan. 15, 1946, to Guadalupe and Delfina Gonz?lez in Crystal City, Texas. He married Mar?a Del Refugio Ferrer on Oct. 3, 1964, in Plainview. Mr. Gonz?lez was a retired farmer and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as financial secretary and was a former Grand Knight. He became a Cursillista in 1963. He also served on the board of directors for South Plains Health Provider Organization and was a Queens Court Booster for the Flying Queens. Pablo is survived by his wife, Mar?a Gonz?lez of Plainview; four daughters, Dolores Rodr?guez and husband Joe Frank of Plainview, Mar?a Luc?a Valadez and husband Jos? of Bryan, Texas, Marisela Rodr?guez and husband Joey of Fort Worth, and Sonia Mellgren and husband Scott of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, John Gonz?lez and wife Lupita of Wylie, Texas; five brothers, Guadalupe Gonz?lez, Deacon Andy Gonz?lez, Juan Estevan Gonz?lez, Mar?a de Jesus Gonz?lez and Jos? Sanchez; three stepsisters, Sgt. Veronica Sanchez, Juanita Sanchez and Maria Sanchez; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mar?a Elena Lerma; and a brother, Johnny Gonz?lez. Memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus, Council #10310.
