Obituary

Services for Julia Gonzales, 70, of Abernathy will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at First Nazarene Church in Abernathy with the Rev. Arlin Ankle officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Abernathy. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Julia died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, in Lubbock. She was born Sept. 12, 1935 in Kennedy to the late Alfonso and Felicita Paiz. She married Jose "Lupe" Gonzales Dec. 9, 1953 in San Antonio. She lived in Mathis from 1940 until 1969, and later moved to Abernathy in 1971. She is preceded in death by a brother, Alfonso Paiz, Jr.

Julia is survived by her husband, Lupe Gonzales of the home; two sons, Joe Gonzales and wife Linda of Abernathy, and Juan Gonzales and wife Bekah of Lubbock; a daughter, Lidia Rodriquez and husband Frank of Sunray; three brothers, Armando Paiz of Edinburg, Amador Paiz of Ovid, Colo., and Albert Paiz of Abernathy; a sister, Irene Perez of Abernathy; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
