Maria Gonzales, 77, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the funeral home. Maria was born on Nov. 29, 1936, to Antonio and Gregoria Gonzales in Rocksprings, Texas. She married Hector Gonzales on Aug. 16, 1959, in Rocksprings. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her mother, Gregoria Gonzales; and two brothers, Augustine and Eluterio Gonzales. Maria is survived by her husband, Hector B. Gonzales of Plainview; one daughter, Leticia Gonzales and husband Leroy Favila of Plainview; two sons, Hector Gonzales Jr. and wife Sharon of Euless, Texas, and Mario Gonzales and wife Cynthia of Cedar Hills, Texas; five granddaughters and two great-granddaughters; one sister, Benita Piper of Rocksprings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
