Obituary

Funeral Mass for Gregorio Gonzales, 71, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mr. Gonzales died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Covenant Specialty Hospital of Lubbock. He was born May 25, 1935, in New Haven, Mich., to Roman Gonzales and Marianita Lozano. He was a farmer most of his life and retired from Cargill Meat Solutions. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was involved with Knights of Columbus and Cursillistas. He was a great father and grandfather. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Richard Rubio of Canyon; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and America Gonzales of Plainview; seven grandchildren, Greg Gonzales III, Jazmyn Gonzales and Javen Gonzales, all of Plainview, David and Robert Arredondo of Lubbock, and Iris and Richard Rubio of Amarillo; 11 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Brittany, Destiny, David and Jacob Arredondo and Desarae, Yvonne and Ebony Arredondo, all of Plainview, and Matthew, Cherish and Sara Arredondo, all of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie V. Gonzales, on Sept. 21, 2001. Online condolences can be made at [email protected]
