Obituary

Funeral mass for Celia Sally Gonzales, 77, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at the funeral home. Sally passed Sunday, May 31, 2015, in Lubbock. She was born June 6, 1937, in Melvin, Texas, to Augustine and Maria De La Cerda. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Fred D. Gonzales of Plainview; three daughters, Christine Bernal of Plainview, Cynthia and Federico Mancias of Little Elm and Julie and Lorenzo Medina of Lubbock; three sons, Manuel and Diane Gonzales and Tony Gonzales, both of Plainview, and Gilbert and Kris Gonzales of Denton; two brothers, Tony De La Cerda of San Jose, California, and Augustine and Anita De La Cerda of Uvalde; five sisters, Mary Lou De La Cerda of Ventura, California, Ida Alfaro and Adelphia Longoria, both of Lubbock, Maria Longoria and Rosa Catano, both of Plainview; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son, Fred Jr.; a son-in-law, Saul; one sister, Eloisa Basquez; and five brothers, Fortunato, Arturo, Alfred, Ricardo and Ralph De La Cerda.
