Gomez, Steven M.

HALE CENTER ? Funeral services for Steven M. Gomez, 15, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Gomez died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Hi-Plains Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1985, in Corpus Christi. He was a sophomore at Hale Center High School and a member of the Owl football, basketball and track teams and the Owl Band. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he was responsible for videotaping for the church. He was involved in the youth group and was a servant to the church.

Survivors include his parents, Mel and Francisca ?Alma? Gomez; two brothers, Rudy Torres of Norfolk, Va., and Joe Gomez of Nebraska; his grandparents, Manuel and Maria Gomez of Brownsville and Jesus and Rachel Torres of Mexico; and great-grandparents, Aurora Ponce and Camillo Torres, both of Mexico.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Owl football team
