Obituary

Vicenta Dominguez Gomez, 76, of Plainview passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, in Lubbock. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Primera Iglesia Bautista with the Rev. Glen Godsey and the Rev. Raymond Pena officiating. Funeral arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Vicenta was born July 19, 1929, to Jose and Josefa Medrano in Del Rio. She married Jose M. Dominguez on Dec. 5, 1949, in Clovis, N.M. They lived in Olton for about 12 years and then Hart and near Conchas Dam, N.M. Jose preceded her in death on March 9, 1983. She married Martin H. Gomez on Sept. 17, 1984, in Plainview. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2002. Vicenta is survived by her children, Tina Dominguez of Fort Worth and Josie Rey of Plainview; brothers Javier Medrano, Jamie Medrano, Carlos Medrano and Conrad Medrano, all of Fort Worth; sisters Ygnacia Medrano and Candelaria Palomo, both of Fort Worth, and Lucia Minnick of Newport, N.C.; grandchildren Dustin Aston and wife Kristy of Fort Worth, Jeanette Kelley and husband Johnny of San Marcos and Erica Rey and Jorel Rey of Plainview; great-grandchildren Haleigh Nicole Aston of Fort Worth and Robert Beedy of Shallowater; and many nieces and nephews.
