Obituary

Carol Ann Gilmore, of Petersburg, departed this life on August 6, 2009 at the age of 62 years. She was born on December 14, 1946 in Albuquerque, N.M. to Homer Clifton and Rena (Mahagan) Barnwell. Carol graduated from high school in El Paso in 1964. She married Lester Lloyd Gilmore on December 18, 1965 in El Paso. They lived in Lubbock, where she worked as a realtor, and also as a Regional Manager for Big Sur Waterbeds. Carol retired in 1996 and moved to Petersburg, where she was a member of the Hale County Ladies Extension Education.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lester; three daughters, Kerrie and Gina, both of Lubbock, and Terri of San Antonio; three brothers, Cliff, Danny and Chris Barnwell; and six grandchildren, Sydney, Matthew, Miranda, Caleb, Madison and Kenzie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and aunt, Leona Willingham of Lubbock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Neal Barnwell; and one brother-in-law, Chester Gilmore.

Formal visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today at White Funeral Home in Idalou.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009 at White Memorial Chapel in Idalou. Interment is to follow at the Strip Cemetery in Hale County.
