Obituary

Elouise Gifford, 82, of Plainview died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Fco. Javier Rodriguez, retired minister, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Gifford was born Sept. 10, 1927, to Herman H. and Willie Winton Robinson in Plainview. She married A.J. Gifford on Oct. 24, 1942, in Amherst, Texas. She was a volunteer for The Salvation Army and president of Mothers of Soldiers Group. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Elouise was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bernice Gifford Earley; a son, Donald LeeRoy Gifford; and a brother, Herman Robinson. She is survived by her husband, A.J. Gifford of Plainview; two sons, Bobby Gifford and wife Man-Ye of Harker Heights, Texas, and Marcus Gifford of Plainview; one sister, Clorine Clayton of Childress, Texas; three brothers, Leon Robinson of Amherst, Texas, Owen Robinson of Chaparral, N.M., and O.L. Robinson of Carlsbad, N.M.; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
