Gietl, Richard John Joseph

Funeral services for Richard John Joseph Gietl, 61, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon, former pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Gietl died at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 19, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y. He married Deborah Gietl on Aug. 17, 1982, in Hugo, Okla.

He was raised in Willamsville, N.Y., and served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Sulphur Springs and the West Texas area before moving to Plainview in 1997. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; one sister, Carol Visone of Williamsville, and his mother, Margaret, of New York City.
